From a survey of our 2018-2020 alumni
The Refuge is a leading faith-based, non-profit addiction recovery ministry founded in Ohio in 1999. The mission of The Refuge is to change the lives of men affected by addiction through Christ. Our goal is to take men from active addiction to becoming responsible men of God, who go on to serve as lights to their families and communities. We do so through The Refuge Residential Addiction Recovery Programs.
Taking place throughout 13 months and four phases, Refuge programs are offered free-of-charge for all accepted. Our programs center on The Refuge’s Process for Transformational Change. This process is Christ-centered, work-based, and peer-supported. We welcome and serve anyone regardless of faith or background.
To date, The Refuge has assisted thousands of men in their effort to free themselves from the chains of addiction and resurrect their lives.
Originally begun as a simple family-run residential ministry in rural Vinton County in southern Ohio, The Refuge has grown significantly over two decades. Now operating from our various properties in Columbus and Lancaster, Refuge programs are administered by a full-time staff of more than a dozen full-time professionals as well as program coordinators.
